What We Treat

Hormone, metabolic, and whole-body care for women in midlife

If you are here, chances are more than one thing has shifted. Sleep, mood, weight, energy, and desire tend to move together, so we look at all of it, find what is driving it, and build one plan that fits your life.

One 60-minute first visit. Testing for the cause. One plan. The same approach, whatever brings you in.

Perimenopause, Menopause, and Your Cycle

The transitions that change how you sleep, think, and feel, and the cycle problems that start long before them.

Metabolic Health and Weight

When the usual advice stops working, the answer is usually hormonal, and it is testable.

Weight and Metabolic Health

Midlife weight change is rarely about willpower. We look at thyroid, insulin, cortisol, sleep, and gut health before we talk about calories. Kate Willis, FNP, IFMCP, MSCP is certified in clinical weight management.

  • Weight gain despite eating well
  • Shape shifted to the middle
  • Poor sleep
  • Food sensitivities
  • Low energy

PCOS

One of the most common hormone imbalances, and one that is often diagnosed and treated with pharmaceuticals without addressing lifestyle.

  • Cystic acne
  • Unwanted facial or body hair
  • Insulin resistance
  • Weight around the middle

Sexual Wellness

Respectful, judgment-free sexual medicine. Low desire and pain are medical concerns, not a normal part of aging you have to accept.

Low Desire

For women whose libido has faded and who have been told that is just what happens. It isn’t, and it can be treated.

  • Low or absent desire
  • No response to what used to work
  • Dismissed by other providers

Sexual Pain

Pain with sex has physical, hormonal, and emotional contributors, and we look at all three.

  • Hormonal support
  • Pelvic floor physical therapy
  • Sex therapy when it fits

Energy, Stress, and Whole-Body Health

Fatigue is a symptom, not a diagnosis. These are the places we look for what is behind it.

Adrenal Dysfunction and Chronic Fatigue

How your body handles stress affects everything from sleep to cravings to how well you cope, and when it runs down, no amount of rest seems to fix it. We test cortisol across a full 24-hour day and look at what else is draining you.

  • Wired and tired
  • Tired after a full night’s sleep
  • Brain fog
  • Insomnia
  • Mood swings under stress
  • Salt or sugar cravings
  • Wiped out by light exercise

Learn more

Gut Health

Health starts in your gut. If you are struggling with skin, immune, or energy issues, we may need to look at your gut health.

  • Bloating
  • Indigestion
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Undigested food
  • Hidden infections
  • Environmental exposures
  • Food sensitivities

Detox and Environmental Health

Toxin exposure and mold are an overlooked cause of fatigue, headaches, and weight gain. We test for it and support your body’s own systems for clearing it.

  • Unexplained fatigue
  • Headaches
  • Weight gain
  • Multiple chemical sensitivities

Still not sure where you fit?

Most women recognize themselves in more than one group, and that is normal. A 15-minute Discovery Call with Kate Willis, FNP, IFMCP, MSCP is a simple place to start.

What Happens When You Come In

1

We listen first

Your first visit is 60 minutes, long enough to go through your history, your symptoms, and what you’ve already tried.

2

We test for the cause

Functional medicine testing looks at hormones, metabolism, stress, and gut health together, so we treat the source and not just the symptom.

3

We build one plan

Hormone therapy when it is right for you, nutrition, movement, sleep, and targeted support, all in one plan that fits your life.

Where We See Patients

We care for women who live in North Carolina or Alabama. Every concern on this page can be treated in person at our Raleigh, NC or Birmingham, AL office, or by virtual visit from anywhere in either state. If you live outside North Carolina or Alabama, we are not able to see you as a patient at this time.

Does this sound like you?

That is normal, and it is the reason we look at the whole picture. One first visit covers all of it. Start with our five-minute “Are We a Good Fit?” video, then request your appointment when you’re ready.

“I feel seen, heard, and supported in every visit and communication. Highly recommend to help connect the dots of your health.”
